We raved about the band's debut 'Twoseventeen' and talked to them in a previous issue. Now they're roaring back with a storming followup. Not dissimilar to P.O.D. with gutsy guitars colliding with gritty hip hop and rolling reggae rhythms, producer Phillip Steir keeps the sound raw and raging though never drowning the melodic hooks in sonic overkill. Lots of killer kuts, "I'll See You" with its resonant assurance of God's love, the reggae-rhythmed "Move On This", the doomy, seriously heavy "Melody" and its haunting plea for "one more melody." Commercial hard music doesn't get much better than this. Throw off any suspicion that Nashville are simply cloning P.O.D. for the evangelical market and investigate this set.
