A very nice little CD which I picked up when I met the artists at Greenbelt earlier this year. At first glance I was expecting just another acoustic guitar totin" singer/songwriter but on listening to the album I was very pleasantly surprised indeed. "Legacy" is an incredibly accomplished recording featuring some tremendous musicianship. It takes its theme in the Psalms with many of the titles linked directly to a scriptural reference such as "Some Trust In Chariots" (Psalm 20) or "Foreign Land" (Psalm 137). There is a distinctly African flavour to the arrangements, and Pat has collaborated with African musicians to create this, backing vocals are contributed by the Benjamin Dube singers and there are some wonderfully expressive bass lines from Victor Sibusio Masondo, very much akin to the kind of work on Paul Simon's 'Graceland' album. There are also several tracks with African lyrics or titles like "Thandanani" and "'Siyalalela". "Legacy" is an album with a surprisingly full and well-produced sound. I recommend you chase it up.

Hi there, trying to contact Pat to catch up. He is an old friend who I knew 40 years ago in SA, and would love to swap news with.
