Born Onitsha La'Quis Shaw in Beverly Hills, Onitsha began singing at the age of three when she used to dress up in her mother's wigs and sing songs like "The Greatest Love Of All" and "What's Love Got To Do With It". Even before she became a teenager she was part of a choir who had recorded and appeared on national television. As an adult performer Onitsha has an impressive CV, having been a backing singer for Destiny's Child, Christina Aguilera and most regularly with Mary Mary. Her powerful and effortless voice swoops and soars over every song on this album and shows an impressive range and texture while the laid back feel of the production makes it a perfect soundtrack for a warm, lazy summer day. Some might say that in one or two places the album is a little too much like Mary Mary. But then considering their talent and success that's probably no bad thing.
