The problem with a lot of small Christian bands is that they play a Christian Fest then soon afterward record a tape. They then put the tape to rather unwise uses. Instead of using it to assess musical strengths and weaknesses, seek advice from a record producer or use as a demo to give to potential bookers, they make a crude inlay card for their tape, call it an album (or in this case a '6-song EP') and attempt to pass it off as a master-quality recording. Silly billies. The dominant weakness here is a lead vocalist who sounds like he is either a composer who can't sing or a guitarist pressed into the job because they had nobody else. The arrangements meander too. A spark or two in the melodies and lyrics, nice guitar. But still not good on the ears. In this case the band's name is sadly only too appropriate.

An indie rock team who created a little stir at Greenbelt '93 and clearly have a loyal fan following (gulp). Good lyrics and arrangements which are more intricate than the normal indie drone. The track which best suits the "distinctive" lead singer is "Sweet Love" with some tasty guitar FX while the tempo-changing "Vogue Life" is eerily effective as well. You'll probably love it or hate it.
