In worship music, there are various types of bands. Most are aggregations whose arrangements and whole musical approach is largely geared to giving a worship leader an appropriate accompaniment to enable him or her to aid a congregation into connecting with God. There are also a few worship acts whose musical approach is less utilitarian and more adventurous. Atlanta, Georgia's North Point InsideOut falls solidly into that first category, and, while gaining traction in the world of radio and streaming, it is the song, rather than the performance, which is of primary importance. North Point InsideOut have already, of course, had an international church congregation hit with "Death Was Arrested". Now this EP endeavours to build on that success and bring their songwriting skills to the forefront. The title track is easily the best on the album. Sung by the "Death Was Arrested" vocalist Seth Condrey, it slowly builds, ending with a final chorus which feels like a great jumping off point for the rest of the EP. Unfortunately, "Here I Am" feels like a B side to "Abundantly More" and is not quite as explosive. "Anchor Of Peace" sets the record straight, taking the project to a musical destination which would be familiar to those acquainted with a David Crowder record, and is another standout. "The Best Is Yet To Come" is a more radio ready song which has some great electric guitar playing throughout. Overall, this is a pretty good EP, though we wait to see whether it's going to receive the acclaim afforded "Death Was Arrested".
