It takes a perverse delight to pack a whole 22 songs, in proud Ramones-like tradition, on one album but then these zany Californian punk rockers were never going to fit easily into any marketing niche like "Christian rock". I must admit, I enjoy some of the bawled, rapid delivery songs whether they're making a spiritual point about those trying to inflate our egos ("Watch My Mouth", playing time 2 minutes 29 seconds: "Words I speak biassed by flattery/I can say honestly don't mean a thing to me"); or Jehovah Witnesses ("Kingdom Hall Crashers", playing time 2 minutes 23 seconds: "We're not trying to be jerks/But God saves by grace not by works"). And how can you resist the rant which is "Noggin Toboggan 2" (playing time 2 minutes, 48 seconds) with a lyric that goes "And if you went to our show/And wish you didn't go/We don't feel bad, you should already know/There's no reason to be there/If you're not one of us/And if you bought our last CD/And wasted your money we're sorry/'cause there is no refunds". I don't know if lead shouter "Jeff" is still out there penning such immortal prose. I hope he is.
