Ignore the opening three minute radio edit: it's no good for DJs, and the vocals don't fit the keyboard backing. The following nine trance remixes will be of much more interest and are obviously designed to be beat-mixed into a DJ-set. Most of the mixes feature some lyrics, even if just a couple of phrases taken from the old hymn "Amazing Grace", and they're all of quite epic length. Many of the remix artists will be unknown, but don't let that put you off, they are worth discovering. Quillroader gives us some nice brooding undertones to hold an energetic, almost robotic riff. Tresice is a bit more bangy, with clockwork hi-hats, while Joel Armstrong gives a more trippy slant to the subject. Yesha Cohen provides the most creative use of the vocals, with quite a percussive collage. 10 versions of the same song may sound like a nightmare to some, but to dip in and out of there is enough variety to keep it interesting. All in all, a useful package for DJs who want to get spiritual.
