Nirva Ready is a member of TobyMac's Diverse City band and like most of the members of that talented group, it isn't surprising to find that she has a solo project released. Left to her own devises, Nirva leans towards neo soul balladry rather than anything overly funky and these five tracks leave plenty of space for her voice to shine. Listeners to Cross Rhythms radio may have already heard the catchy encouraging opening cut "One Day" which is on the playlist. Other highlights include her version of Psalm 63 on the beautiful acoustic "Bow" and the fuller production on "Searched (No One Like You)" which again only highlights Nirva's gorgeous voice. This is an excellent calling card and perhaps with the profile she's receiving from working with TobyMac, there will be a future opportunity for a full album. On the strength of this, I certainly hope so!
