This is a debut album from an aspiring artist who has written, performed and engineered the whole project. The sleeve shows a picture of an Olympic type torch held aloft with the hand of God on one side and the hand of man on the other, and further inspired by Isaiah 49 v6, describing Israel "as a light to the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth." Each song on the album has been written "to help explain the word of God to non-Christians" through some of Nigel's own personal experiences. This is certainly a red hot aim, with the emphasis among evangelicals today shifting towards reaching the unchurched, but sad to say, this is far from a red hot debut. Unfortunately, apart from the title track, the material is not strong, intros and outros are overlong and the syrupy nature of the songs lacks urgency and a passion so desperately needed by preachers and teachers, whether it is in public speaking or in song. Nigel is undoubtedly a talented keyboards musician, but this particular set is thoroughly disappointing and uninspiring.
