A truly Christocentric project, producer/artist Kevin Foulger, otherwise known as Newton Apple, has been toiling away for quite awhile. In 1994 he was runner up in the Radio One Young DJ Contest and some of this album was the result of his entering, and winning, a competition organised by web music magazine ejay whose samples on Sound Collection Vol 1 are used liberally throughout. There's plenty of inspired dance rhythms, which will make the instrumental techno cuts here a dance floor delight, while the more trance-like tunes are again excellent chillout items. What ruins the album for this reviewer is the misguided attempts at rap. Even changing the pitch of his voice can't hide the fact that Kevin has little or no rapping talent so tread carefully.
