The New Amsterdam Brass Band is a group of first class musicians from the New York area who share an enthusiasm for brass band music. The group exists to celebrate the brass band genre and to inspire and motivate young people in their musical development. Members of the New Amsterdam Brass Band come from a variety of backgrounds and represent some of the finest brass players in the New York area. In the group are music students, teachers, freelance and professional musicians who have performed with the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera, New Jersey Symphony, Philadelphia, San Francisco Symphony and Israel Philharmonic orchestras, the United States Army Band 'Pershing's Own' and The Salvation Army New York Staff Band.

On 3rd May 2009, the New Amsterdam Brass Band had the distinct pleasure of being joined in concert by trumpet superstar Allen Vizzutti. This CD features some of the highlights from that special night.
