This a recording made by the worship team of Preston City Mission otherwise known as NJS. The team consist of Nicola Robinson (vocals/baby grand piano), Justine Eccles (vocals) and Steve Kelly (vocals/acoustic guitar). The recording is made of traditional hymns ("When I Survey", "The Lord Is My Shepherd"), more recent songs ("Here I Am", "In Christ Alone") and a number of tracks which to the best of knowledge are new songs. The recording cannot be accused of being over produced! As the previously mentioned instruments are all that are present, this makes for a very simple, intimate recording which draws you into the presence of God. That said, some of the tracks could have benefited from additional instruments and on occasions the uncluttered blending of vocals does not always work, which is a shame as there are clearly three talented musicians here. The album finishes with Psalm 91 spoken by all members of NJS which is a fitting end to an intimate recording such as this. In summary, a pleasant recording with no frills.
