Cross Rhythms readers may have already read about one of Christendom's most talented female rappers. Murk comes out of Memphis and inspired by the likes of Lecrae and connecting with rapper, producer and entrepreneur Mr Del now offers rap with a Southern flavour. On "Welcome Back" (with samples from the John Sebastian song) she introduces herself while on "Still Murkin" has the sound of the track being rewound as if by a live club deejay. There's a standout break and track in "Dreams" as Murk testifies about her journey to live out her dream in hip-hop and gives up her gratitude to the faithfulness of God. "On Me" is Murk's testimony of God's favour, her mission being God's mission. Murk brings a good selection of beats from the southern clicks on the crunk sounding "Anotha Level" to the complex grinding bass and beats on "Real 22" as Murk testifies to being real with a rolling and intense flow. There's nothing here quite as good as her recent "So Beautiful" Cross Rhythms playlist hit but 'Still Murkin' still delivers.
