Maybe it's because of, instead of in spite of, the distance between New Zealand and the main music markets of the US and Europe that bands from that wonderful nation make such compelling music. Already gaining airplay on UK-based internet station The Word with opener "Nevertheless", Mumsdollar, a South Auckland five-piece, have been wowing radio and festivals in NZ and Australia for the past seven years with two full length albums under their belt which have spawned several radio hit singles, and an amazing appearance at 2004's Parachute Festival in front of 6,000 fans. This seven-track offering, recorded at a number of NZ studios, showcases Mumsdollar's high energy, crunching yet life affirming sound to full effect. "Ghosts And Lullabies" gallops along at full tilt; "One Day" starts off sounding dangerously like McFly before the lads show those young upstarts how it should really be done, and if you like your music a little more heads-down then look no further than the sprint that is "A Love So Deep". To quote my good friend Ronny, "Quality!"
