Siobhan Maher of the River City People has apparently said she likes this tape and that she feels it shows potential. I unfortunately can't agree, I really did want to like it, after all the band is fronted by my fellow Irish man Mark Houston, but no matter how hard I tried that recording did nothing for me whatsoever. A three track EP recorded in Mid-1990 "Break The Pain" ambles along at a slow pace always promising to move up and out of first gear but yet failing to ever achieve this apparently difficult task. A very sloppy production job doesn't help in the slightest and I can only assume that this has been produced on a very small shoe-string budget, hence the overall poor quality of the recording. In his own words Mark admits "the idea of the tape is not to sell a million copies but to get it listened to and to get reaction". Well at least he has now achieved that humble aim.

Thankfully Chip Hopkins review didn't put me off! Plugged away doing gigs all these years...should've been in HMP Garth this very evening but it was cancelled at the last. I still get to tread the boards again on Friday night though which'll be great. After 16 years of silence I'd like to express my opinions on the tape Mr Hopkins band released in the late 80's...but I shan't:) LOL
