Pitching in somewhere glam rock and '80s hair bands, this is Miracle Max's second album, the first was 'Fast Lane' released back in 1998. Hailing from Canada, Miracle Max is actually Curt Cummings recording under the Miracle Max moniker, one presumes to avoid the embarrassment of admitting that he is actually a long lost cousin of Admiral Cummings. What you get is 17 (yep, 17!) glam metal tracks produced, written, performed (he plays all the instruments) and sung by Mr Cummings. Yes, he's a veritable one man band and no mistake! If you like being caught in this particular time that musical taste forgot, there are plenty of air guitar opportunities and it's worth dusting down your rock'n'roll spandex trousers for full enjoyment of the album. Production quality is good and there's plenty of crunchy guitars and screaming vocals to satisfy every permed aficionado of this style of metal. Beyond that Miracle Max doesn't compromise on the lyrical front so these are straight ahead Christian songs that'll knock you between the eyes. To hell with the devil, check out the likes of "Nerve To Serve", "3:16". And then as the album progresses, there's a few ballads and in a mood reminiscent of Van Halen's "Ice Cream Man", you get the swing of "Stop Drop & Roll". Hmmm. hilarious!
