Reviewed by Isaac Poulton Hailing from Manchester, Milo Cho deliver a stunning blend of guitar based pop-rock and opera. Now, this appears to be a terrible idea on paper, worse than pancakes and sausages on a stick (they exist, look them up) but this band have pulled the act off fantastically. Instead of the two genres clashing, they compliment each other adorably. This happens because the band acts rather like an orchestra would; they don't function as a typical rock band, with everyone wanting centre stage, instead they function like a well-oiled machine. Don't get me wrong, the thrill of rock music is still there, it's just that the way the songs are put together that treats the band more like a classical group. The vocals, on the other hand, take a distinctive leading role, cutting through the mix as if it were butter. After all the very passionate opera that comes from the singer, the more regular snippets that come (in "Piangero" and "Hunters", for example) are delightfully refreshing. It's really a shame that the band hasn't got any gigs lined up in the Midlands (as of the time of writing), I'd be there before you could count to ten. All in all, this album is an inspired and unique collection that you should definitely give a listen to.
