Michael has stated the aim of this new series of releases is to "enliven a young child's journey with hope and faith through song and storytelling." Here on this 45-minute , 27-track collection there are familiar hits from Mr Smith's back catalogue ("Friends" and Agnus Dei) adapted for a new audience along with new ballads, storytelling and his band (The Nighty Nights) which feature members Bear, Lamby and Sleepy Puppy! Not only do these characters play but also have their own theme song. There is also a number of instrumental versions of album tracks contained here presumably to aid sleep. Michael's experience as a father and grandparent clearly shines through to the target listener of infants and toddlers here, although there is a beautiful song "Anna" dedicated to the main child character which will appeal to all ages. This a well thought out album which will find a place in many homes.
