Michael McMillan is a Scottish singer/songwriter who learned to play the bagpipes and was given a drum kit around the age of 13. He played in a pipe band at age 14. So he's been at music for quite a while. This is the follow up to his debut solo album, 'Cold And Roofless'. It is an album of bold songwriting and with great support featuring a wide variety of textures including sax, harmonica, banjo and cello. Michael's vocals, along with supporting female vocals, keys, bass and soft percussion weave an intricate story of longing on "Wait For Me". Another highlight is "Song For Alex", a love song for his wife. "Faith To Faith" features the catchy refrain "Back to back and faith to faith". Finally, there are some excellent guitar solos throughout the set. All in all, a major improvement on 'Cold And Roofless'.

This is a truly great album. I really enjoyed the lyrics and so did my wife Sandra. The playing and melodies are wonderful too. I have seen Michael 'live' and he and the band are even better in the flesh ! Incidentally I also have the first album and still listen to it a lot. It's much better than you guys say it is!
