The material on this two-CD collection was first heard on his 1993 release 'The Ancient Faith' though there is one new song, "Malachi". The set is a reminder of the mastery Card has achieved of the art of biblical story-telling and exposition (and of the knowledge of Scripture required to do this!). In three discrete sections (the Law, Writings and Prophets), this compilation works its way through a significant proportion of the Old Testament, unpicking, highlighting, explaining and interpreting, and relating the ideas always back (or forwards) to Jesus, who he describes as "...a man of the Old Testament"). Card is a most accomplished musician and composer in a soft acoustic style and the power of the material here has the potential to hit with a new generation of listeners.
