On this life's journey as Christians, we know that there's more to come. With their debut album, American band Mercy Me encourage people to look forward to the day "when all I will do is forever worship you." That lyric is from the most beautiful and touching song on the album and it is definitely a heavenly ballad. "I Can Only Imagine" allows you to imagine the awe and splendour of the day when we'll finally see God face to face. The song is definitely the album's centrepiece, and Amy Grant has already recorded a version of it for her forthcoming album. The only problem is that there is little else on the album that matches the huge impact of that one song. This is a shame because the band obviously have potential and after six successful independent albums, they finally signed to a label, allowing more listeners to experience their blend of acoustic-based, pop worship music. This album isn't going to break them into the big time although all the lyrics are obviously passionate love songs for Jesus, sometimes it feels as if they're singing Psalms - straight from the Bible.
