Tim Reihmerr and Marcus Meier are worship leaders at the International House Of Prayer in Kansas City, famed for the OneThing Conference. Together, they are the Merchant Band. This is their second CD release following on their initial self-titled offering. As you would expect from worship leaders, the lyrics for the most part focus on their "Wonderful Savior". American or not, the band's sound has been described as Britpop, and that certainly captures the feel of the musical style. The majority of the songs are quite gentle, but there is a big guitar influence throughout, the tone being set by the second track "You Love Me Forever". This is an enhanced CD, so as well as the 12 songs, you are offered chords, lyrics and video. The chords and lyrics links respectively take you to chord charts and lyric sheets for all the songs, courtesy of the ChordFind.com website. Click on video for an informative interview covering the band's origins and the meaning of the band's name, interspersed with glimpses behind the scenes for the band and the IHOP Prayer room. An inspiring album that will help you to worship and a worship tool to use too.
