Matt, a youth worker, started writing "seriously" around a year ago, although based on "Pebbles" he is a quick learner! In three minutes Matt demonstrates a depth and feeling which can be absent from more mature writers. The song reflects loss over a gentle, mainly acoustic guitar backing, matched by a fragile voice delivering emotion by the spade load and is just right for the nature of the song. Matt states, "We need more laments" - "Pebbles" demonstrates a heart and mind reaching out to listeners in difficult times, the mark of a skilled singer/songwriter.
