First, the good news: Mary has a good voice, with a touch of the operatic about it, the album running time is generous at just over 50 minutes, and it's been produced by experienced muso and songwriter Steve Millikan. Now the bad news: a quick glance at the song credits reveals nothing written later than 1994, and the presence of names such as Ray Boltz, Janny Grein, Geron Davis and Billy Sprague may give the game away - this is Inspirational music with a big capital I. Compounding the felony are big MOR string arrangements and choral twiddly bits, all of which add up to something that may go down big in the US Southern Bible Belt, but which on this side of the pond is Dullsville, Arizona. Forgettable in the extreme.
