Mary Buchan is not one of the burgeoning plethora of Nashville babes trying to earn a living in the big bad world of CCM. Quite the opposite; she's a nurse and a mother of three, residing in the Charlotte area of North Carolina with her other half BOB, and her music is strictly a part-time thing. That having been said, she is a talented guitarist, a competant songwriter and a possesor of a good soprano voice, the material on this 12 song album is mainly pop veering towards country (although there are some echoes of Celtic here and there, thanks to some flute and mandolin), soundly Scriptural, and easy and pleasant listening. There are a few (very few) slight wobbles on the vocals here and there, but the production is good, the sounds are properly mixed, and all the instruments come over crisp and clear. An enjoyable listen worth seeking out.
