Here's a debut EP from a London-based R&B gospel singer who has made the transition from live musical theatre to the studio. Hooking up with experienced producer Nicky Brown has obviously enhanced the sound here as he has helmed these tunes with the resulting breezy catchy sound. From the suitable opening track "Hello" to the closing bonus of "Chosen Son", there are a couple of things that really stand out here. Garrick is gifted with an easy expressive soulful voice which immediately draws you in with its warmth. Highlights for me include the breathy hook of "Golden Roads" and the two versions of the title cut. This all really works and this debut EP is a slickly produced smooth slice of gospel R&B that leaves the listener wanting more. Looking forward to hearing a whole album from Marsha!
