This debut album from an experienced session artist and Californian songwriter visits several musical styles in turn, beginning in "the innocent era of the Beach Boys" with a remake of "God Only Knows". Certainly the sound is clean and fresh. However, it did not have me mentally dancing along a beach so much as lying there relaxing in the love of God - until the song"No Other Gift Like A Child", one of the worst examples of children-inspired sentimentality I have ever heard. "Dimples and lego's, [sic] spaghettio's and cookie dough"? Purlease!
