Markaos hails from Norwich and fits the demographic of Brits who pronounce "building" with a "w" - "buiwlding". Enunciation aside, I do think the rapper has potential appeal to UK hip-hop fans. However, based on this showing I have to say he's not there quite yet. The craft of the rapping generally doesn't compare well to the standard of other rappers Christian or not. The beats are pretty imaginative - "Stand Strong" had my head nodding with some brilliant bhangra samples and the Streets-esque "Best Friend" is melodic and catchy. Sadly however there were a lot of rhymes here which made me cringe - "Tik-Tok" being a particular low point. The delivery and the writing just isn't that great, so even though the message presented is powerful it's not supported by the lyrical performances.
