This is one of the multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Mark Heard's earlier albums (from 1981 in fact) and probably one of the rockiest and most straight forward of his career. The electric guitars are very much at the front of the mix and with a few doo wop style vocals and a bit of sax thrown into the mix, this is '80s meets a little retro styling and of all his albums, this has always been a favourite. I know some hardcore Heard devotees will disagree but I feel some of the best cuts here were the more obvious Christian material evident here. The blues-oriented tracks like "Stuck In The Middle" and "I'm In Chains" has always appealed to me and other highlights include the acoustic "I'm Crying Again" and the magnificent menacing "Stranded At The Station". The closing ballad "To See Your Face" is a beautiful song longing to be face to face with God. Timeless stuff.

The 'Stop the Dominoes' album is indeed 'timeless', Mike. I have to be Mark's biggest fan ever, and I love listening to this powerful album. 'Stranded at the Station' really shows off Mark's concern for the unsaved, with the song being about being stranded on Earth after the Lord's children have gone to be with Him, after the second coming - 'fruits of hesitation', such powerful lyrics, that should make every non believer think! I am biased, I admit, but I can't find a Mark Heard album that derserves less than 11 out 10, especially his final album before he died, 'Satellite Sky' -superb!! Mark, I miss you, and can't wait to join you when I go Home! Praise the Lord!
