On offer here is a well shot video of an orchestrated p&w session led by seasoned songstress Marilyn Baker. The musicianship between Marilyn and her rather talented backing band is excellent, although I couldn't help feeling that the band should have been given more freedom to express themselves. Guitarist Barrie Gleden looked particularly tied down throughout the gig. Having said that, the tight arrangements do leave ample room for some inspired solo instrumentalists to do their thing, notably a brilliant but sadly uncredited flautist. Songwise, I found three tracks that stood out from what, I have to say, was a pretty bland set; "Sacrifice", a soulful ballad, "He's My Saviour, My Friend And My Lord", an irresistible bopper and "Jesus Is Alive In Me", which ends the gig with a bang. Quality of sound and picture are good, save for one or two camera wobbles and a few lighting problems, but these don't detract from the 'feel' of the event. If you're a Marilyn Baker fan then you'll like this video and derive much enjoyment and ministry from it. If you're not, well...
