The Maranatha singers have always managed to produce recordings that positively ooze musical excellence - with angelic harmonies and arrangements that MGM and Walt Disney would be proud of, but they often seem to me to be totally devoid of imagination and any real depth of emotion. The lyrics of these songs are strong and thankfully short of that biggest of American exports...corn! The solo singers do an excellent job, but when the choir cuts in, the edge is lost. On the whole though, it is a pleasant album to sit quietly and calm down to.
