You can't keep God in a box. This CD is hard to pigeon-hole, too. It mostly fits pre-grunge metal-lite rock (I'm thinking The Scorpions here), with some deft chord changes and lyrical guitar playing to keep you interested and impressed. There are regulation issue motorbike FX on the appropriately titled "C M A Riders". But then we get some flying curves. There is an MOR ballad, "Did It With Love" (not the typical acoustic number a rock band throws in). There's bluesy funk that had me reminiscing about Stretch and the Climax Blues Band. Finally, there's reggae: "Little Child Crying". The rock tracks seem to be where Alex Edy has his heart. A greater focus on them would be welcome. He may also need to watch the Christianese in the lyrics, and other places where the words don't fit a British context (references to "toll-free" in "Hotline Phone"). His talent is unquestionable. With these adjustments, Malachi could have an effective evangelistic ministry here.
