Lydia is a teenage singer from Plymouth, Devon and this is her debut EP. The opener, "Hold Me Now", is a rather lovely mid-tempo song though to create an ambient effect rather too much reverb has been added to Lydia Clare's pure, sweet voice. The title track without such effects is therefore much better and the strength of the melody keeps the listener's attention despite little more in the way of accompaniment than piano, presumably played by the lady herself. A band accompanies Lydia on "I Will Trust In You" and like its predecessor it too creates a nice atmosphere of devotional sincerity. Overall, a promising debut and an indicator that with the right song and producer the lass could go far.
