A brand new American band for you to sample who come to the table with a project that seems to combine PFR and U2 with loads of vibe. Musically it's a mix of guitar-driven rock, atmospheric pop melodies and string arrangements. The result is an album of epic sounding songs which from the opening samples of a Russian cosmonaut at the start of the first song "Aliens" builds into something which is sonically perfect but doesn't seem to catch fire. It took the band nine months to record this project with Monroe Jones in the producer's seat so I guess they just wanted to get it right but I am not convinced that the end result stands out from the crowd. There are some highlights like "Forgiveness" with its "With Or Without You" style bass line and catchy chorus as well as the moody "Hang On To You". "So Far" and "Running Away" show an edgier side to their music but ifs become increasingly difficult for Luna Halo to make an impact above the noise of hundreds of other Christian bands out there, Good but not amazing!
