Readers with sharp memories might recall a brief mention of Luciano's 'Where There Is Life' album in amongst the Three Dots And A Flash bits last ish. This is the first single off the album and if it's any indication of what the rest is like, I'd advise you to pick it up without delay. In the song (served up here in three different versions) Luciano chastises some ingrate with the chorus line: "How can you be so ungrateful after all that God has done for you?", and then goes on to list some of the things we tend to take for granted - and yes, I did have to plead guilty a few times. Musically, it's a departure from the seemingly omnipresent ragga sound into territory Gregory Isaacs's fans would feel very comfortable in. And considering the song's subject matter, maybe I should say a quick "ta very much" to Gaylene (the lady who handles PR duties for Island's reggae product) for sending me this goodie.
