Following on from the 2004 independent release 'Otherside Of Nowhere', Lost Anthem have arrived with an ear catching album of energetic rock with a sprinkling of skater punk and a splash of the '80s. With good arrangements and fine musicianship, this band will strike a chord with the air guitar enthusiasts out there. Worthy points of note are the album opener "Too Far Gone" and "Hey DJ", with amps cranked up, this five piece offer a few great let-the-hair down moments. The tracks on offer rarely delve into any sort of lyrical depth as the band languishes in the realms of love songs and driving tracks. Don't be mistaken though; this is not a criticism of the band's songwriting ability, as you will find yourself attempting sing-alongs as soon as the first hearing. The hooks are plentiful but it'll just take a while longer and a touch more searching to find the message behind these guys. A helpful insight though is the added extra of an accompanying DVD, with interviews, music videos and behind the scenes footage.
