This type of lone acoustic guitarist CD is rare in Christian music. Lloyd comes unknown to me from New Zealand but apparently he’s gaining a reputation on national radio, paying his dues. It is obvious that this album has been a labour of love and is highly enticing in content. Predominantly, this is a soulfully ambient, secular (apart from the finale, "The Old Rugged Cross") Spanish-guitar collection laced with jazz and classic touches. Lloyd’s style (reminiscent of early Chet Atkins - praise indeed!), is rich, warm, engaging and inspirational. It doesn’t capture attention immediately - it grows on one. His soft quality repertoire is self-penned. Commendably packaged, this album deserves a searching out but it may be difficult to track down so here’s the contact (www.guitaralone.com). Someone once said that a Christian cannot turn in a wholly secular performance as the "light of the Lord" will always shine thru. Well, here’s a case in point!

I used to know Lloyd Wheeler a long time ago, only I knew
him as Mr. Wheeler, my teacher!
He is an amazing guitarist and used to play to us everyday
in class and would all sing along.
I purchased his CD one day and I still enjoy listen to it to
this day.
