Lisbeth Scott is a singer with an extraordinary voice. Unless you've been in a cave for the past five years I'd like to bet that you've heard her voice even if you didn't know it. She's sung on film soundtracks and trailers, TV shows and most notably was the voice on the soundtrack to The Passion Of The Christ. Here's an album that highlights her talents as a writer and a singer. She's written the majority of these songs with her husband Nathan Barr and stylistically the album marries contemporary, world and ethereal sounds together. This is beautiful music moving from moments of intensity to gentle drifting sounds and all the time Scott's stunning voice piercing the heart of the listener with its passion. I love the simplicity of "I Surrender" and the poppier "All Of These Years". The opening "Reveal" adopts a similar vein to the material for Gibson's film and thus immediately connects in a familiar fashion. The results are pretty amazing and this is an other worldy listening experience!
