Lighthouse are Dutch brothers Harry and Evert-Jan Banninga, who play guitars, write the songs (in English) and sing. The publicity compares their largely acoustic-based sound to Crowded House and Rich Mullins. Lead vocals come from Harry, maybe sounding a bit thin at times: perhaps a bigger production budget would have helped, but to me the album sounds more attractive overall than some over produced American product. Evert-Jan's bvs add depth. A 7-song CD with heartfelt songs of the struggles of life, the desire to be Christ-like and the ever present God who makes it all worthwhile and possible. In the title track for example: "Six years of wrestling with God/Wrestling with myself...I hand it over to you/You know where my future lies." Just occasionally the language doesn't quite seem to flow - perhaps because English isn't their first language, but this CD needs no excuses and the strong hooks soon have you singing along.
