Vibey. acoustic driven rock with more than a nod to REM. Less Than Seven's six-track CD 'Spin' is a combination of brilliant melodies and intriguing lyrics pitched on top of a bed of stripped down but powerful music. The intensity isn't conveyed by a huge production but rather with Less Than Seven, less is more. The tender ballad "Fall Down" is a magnificent musical experience topped with beautiful harmonies and lyrics that describe a humble experience of God. At the other extreme. "In The Meantime" and the album's opener "Shadow Lands" are more out there! In fact that first cut has a bit of a groove which immediately catches the attention. My other fave here is "Schemers And Dreamers" which has a real Anglophile feel to it with its British references. Excellent stuff. Overall this is a brilliant calling card for an intriguing band. Can't wail to hear more.
