With an album title an anagram of Les's surname, the tuba soloist offers another demonstration as to why his chosen instrument should be considered a serious one. The CD contains tracks of a traditional nature such as the opener "Concert Etude" (written by Goedicke, the early 20th century composer) and the more modern "The Prayer" made popular by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli, but originally composed in 1801. The Wingates Band support Les extremely well, just listen to the bright and jolly "Capricco" and Zamecnik's "Concertino For Piano and Tuba", the latter a skilful marriage between the two instruments with Martyn Parkes on keyboard. Les is known for pushing the boundaries with the instrument and as such could attract new listeners amongst those unfamiliar with the tuba.
