This five-piece from Huddersfield present here their first two-track private recording. They describe themselves as "a lively mix of pop, rock...with hints of classical, folk and roots music", citing their influences as "Queen, Marillion and R EM ". They have been touring together for around three years - so why only two tracks then, guys'? Actually they remind me of none of the above influences and the description "roots" is about the closest I'd use to describe their style. I used to hear this sort of folky rock music in the '70s actually! I found the vocals poor, the melodies too basic and uninspiring and the need for a quality songwriter urgent. Sorry guys, but the first song was repetitive to the extreme ("Run, run...I will run") and the second ("Holy Day") was simply tedious. I really hate being critical about any Christian band, especially since these guys seem to do a good work in schools and prisons, etc. God bless them and I'm sure they come across much better live, but this tape simply fails.
