I often find that pop artists can be derivative of others in their field, but there's definitely something special about this album. It may be the guitars that give the backing more of an edge, but it is mainly that the songs are so well written. Philip and Natalie LaRue are teenage siblings from California who share a prodigious talent for songwriting (every track is written by the young musicians). They also sing very well, and Philip plays most of the guitar accompaniment. It is LaRue's first album, which gives me cause to think that this group are gonna be big! They have already had a number three single on Soundscan's American CCM chart with the song "Waiting Room", and every song on this album is really catchy. The lyrics are also strong, especially on "One Day Of The Week", which raises questions about treating Christianity like a "Sunday only" religion. On some songs, the chorus and verse do not seem to run smoothly together, but apart from that, it's a remarkably good album, the highlights being "Picture Frame", "Always Be" and "Run To You (The Piano Song)".
