According to her website, Florida-based minister, author and gospel singer L-Ma King's self-penned second album tells the listener "what God is saying right now to the world" and contains songs that "awaken us to be aware of our spiritual self". Despite these bold claims, the end result is something of a disappointment and sees King's gentle gospel vocal delivery set against an over-synthesized backing on material that unfortunately fails to make the grade. Whilst her songs are pleasant enough, a lack of stylistic variety - with the exception of some reggae on "The Kingdom Within" and the slow blues of "A Second Set Of Eyes" - means that the majority of the tracks roll into one and, with most songs lasting between five and eight minutes, this makes for a somewhat long and uneventful listen. Whilst King's songs are admirably God-focussed and set on communicating the love of Jesus, the rambling nature of the lyrics means that the message loses its impact somewhat and some lyrical and musical refining is needed.
