My heart sank when this album arrived - another collection of worship music from a local church! But this turns out to be very good, live worship as it should be. The instrumentation is superb - wonderful brass, thumping bass, sensitive percussion, and great guitars and keyboards. The voices are clearly worshipping rather than performing and the production is just right - more than good enough to be highly professional, but not so slick and glossy as to be artificial. The songs are all written by members of the church (except for Darlene Zschech's "The Potter's Hand") and inspire real praise and worship. King's Church Pastor, Ray Bevan, gets to lead on one track and there are some great solos, both vocal and instrumental. British contemporary worship at its very best. Don't miss it!
