Despite the blurb "a soulful expression of instrumental worship" and the blunt words "jazz sax" beside Kim's name, 'Evening Praise' is less jazz than the 'Fireside Christmas' album (played by Mark Townsend) reviewed elsewhere in this issue where Mark's playing is described as "pop sax". Ho hum. In fact, a lot of this album rests in a muzaky MOR land thanks to David Clydesdale's cloying arrangements. If the idea of elevator music versions of "How Great Thou Art", "His Eye Is On The Sparrow", "Amazing Grace" and nine more beloved hymns is what you've been longing to buy you probably need ministry. Until you get it check out 'Evening Praise'.
