More kids' praise songs from our American brethren. If nothing else, albums such as this make me very grateful indeed for Doug Horley, Jim Bailey, Ishmael and the many other producers of quality children's music this side of the Atlantic. As with so much (though not all) praise music from the USA, this has a very formulaic sound to it and the children whose voices provide the backing for these songs don't really seem to be enjoying it. The CD notes tell us that these are "some of the craziest praise songs you've ever heard", but unless you have been living in a hole for the last 20 years, that is very misleading indeed. Here we have 10 children's songs (with five "bonus" instrumental/backing tracks) sung to a rather laboured accompaniment, and a few hearty instructions from worship leader Matt Glass. There's a scattering of oldies - "Walking In The Light Of God", "My God Is So Big", "Jesus In The Boat" - and a few more recent offerings, including David Ruis's "Mercy Is Falling", but nothing that is at all outstanding. The enhanced CD has some PowerPoint templates and a small selection of clip art, but if you want something exuberant that will really get your praise party going, I suggest you look elsewhere.
