Manchester-based 32 year old singer/songwriter Kevin's debut single is a multi-layered song with different parts that fit together so seamlessly that is difficult to pick them apart. Kevin, who started in mainstream music before changing to CCM, kicks it off with a crisp drum beat which is then accompanied with almost country sounding guitars. Impressively, for an independent release this track echoes in its complex arrangement to mainstream big hitters such as Coldplay, Maroon 5 and Muse, as it develops an epic feeling with synths, hand claps, guitar changes and even a military drum beat are brought into the mix. Kevin's lyrics tell the story of Jesus' anguish in the Garden of Gethsemane bringing in Jesus' genealogy to King David with "I'm a king like David/Long awaited/Born into this world I made" and the change between the lyrics "The lion heart is not my part today" and "The lion heart and lamb lay down today" show the change of Jesus' feelings and acceptance of his impending death. Very powerful.
