I hear that superstar Mr Rogers "isn't a committed Christian but a sincere spiritual searcher" and I suppose with huge sales of the country/pop megastar on offer a Christian label, like Word, can bend the rules a little. But what of the music here? Well, it, not surprisingly, is lushly produced and quite inspirational in a "You'll Never Walk Alone" kind of way. Almost entirely ballads, a certain musical melodrama comes along the way so that even when he's singing on a romantic ballad (with mighty help of superb guest vocalists like Michael McDonald and Kim Carnes), I remained peculiarly uninvolved. Probably for fans and Christian sentimentalists only.
