When Kenny releases a 12' you know it is going to be good, but this is even better than usual. The "Ricanstruction Vocal Mix" is typical New York garage, though well produced, with several keyboard layers along with funky guitar and bass riffs, all played by real musicians! Kenny's high vocals passionately plead 'Father come down/We need you: please help your children.' Side two offers a mix containing an amazing harmonica solo. Harmonicas in dance music? Yes, and it really works! Disappointingly, the second 12' in this set is not so useful: Firstly there's a mix with everything but the drums and percussion, then there are two gospelly 'Broken Down' mixes without vocals, followed by five minutes of beats only! Useful perhaps to the more creative DJ, but not for the average music punter. Shame the two discs aren't available separately: you could then save a few pounds on an otherwise quite expensive way of purchasing music. Still, the excellent side one makes up for it!
